Have 2 PH probes in my 90. 1 is in the calcium reactor and the other is in the tank and connected by the RKII.
Reading is always around 8.2-8.3 so I was in instant panic when I went by and the RKII was reading 11.5. Effluent from the reactor was still at 6.71 where it stays most of the time.
I took a small container for some water from the 90 and used the probe in my 29g and it read 81.9. Tried the water from the 29g and read it with the probe in the 90 and it read 8.2 which was the same as my 29 read it. Tried a cup of water from the 90 and pulled the probe from the sump and stuck it in the cup and it read 8.2 like normal
On a whim I pulled the ground probe out and it went back to reading 8.2 using the water in my 90 with the same probe. Put the grounding probe back in and it shot straight up again into the 11`s.
Both have been on the tank and never caused this issue before so I`m kind of confused what would cause this reading to spike in about 2 hrs time with the PH probe.
I shut down the skimmer, return pump, and put the tank in feed mode with no pumps running and it read the same off readings...
Anyone know what could be causing this weird rise in readings with the Ground probe installed and why it would just do it out of the blue??
