Ph Probe help

This is too wierd and beyond me whats going on.

I just got a AQ III and a PH probe - when I rinses the probe I did not bother to see if, in fact, the liquid under the cap was there or dried - I wish I had - it may provide answers.

When I installed the probe - PH read 8.68 no biggie as I had not calibrated it. I calibrated it with 7/10 and it read 8.6 - which made me alarmed

Just playing I went into aquanotes and changed the offset which I believe was like -1.1 down a bit - who cares I am running aquanotes with ethernet

I went to lFS and they tested their water and gave me some - tested at 8.2 - I put the probe into this solution as it shoed 7.49 which did not surprise me after playing with the setting in aquanotes

I bought some different calibration fluid (milkwakee) and recalibrated making sure I waited for settling - put it in the sump and now it was reading 7.5

i put the probe back into calibration 7 and it read 7 - i put the probe in 10 and it read 10

i put it back in my sump and it read 7.5

my pinpoint is showing 8.2 this am but has not been calibrated forever

i tested my tank water with tetra AND salfiet and they both were at 8.15 - this right after the lights had come on.

i just went over pinpoint is 8.23 and aqua probe is 7.68

i took a glass of sump water, inserted probe and got the same reading

i have not moved the probe wire, or otherwise changed placement during these test albiet it is adjacent to icecap mh ballast, tunze 7095 multicontroller, etc

Please advise as to this seemingly illogical result.

Plus - do I use or not use temp compensation.

After the last calibration aquanotes shows offset to be -0.89
with slope whatever that is at 0.9899
