pH probe in freshwater?

Is it ok to use the pH probe of an AC Jr in freshwater? I want to test the pH of some tap water that I've been curing aggrocrete rocks in. Also, I won't have saltwater ready for another week or two so I'd have to keep the probe in freshwater until then so it doesn't dry out (probably a container of bottled water, as it's cleaner than my testing water).

Note: I don't necessarily need an accurate pH reading because I don't need to know the actual pH I just need to know the difference between the tank pH and fresh tap water pH so I know how the rocks are effecting the water.

Yes, the pH probe will work in freshwater, and freshwater won't harm the probe.
