As the pH probe included with the controller kit begins to fail, I'm looking for a more durable replacement. Any suggestions on what probe or probes will work with the controller other than whats available from ghl, or is ghl the only way to go?

GHL probe really is the way to go, they last around 3x longer than anything else we have ever tested and have the fastest of reaction times which is highly important when using for a calcium reactor

Are you speaking about the blue plastic pH probe included with the controller package/ If so, my probe in use for 6-8 months is now failing, loosing calibration. I was told at one point the included probe is a "starter" probe which I would not buy again.

I know this thread is old but I am wondering where and for how much I can get a new ph probe for my profilux ? Are all ph probes compatible with the unit or is there a specific probe I need.
Any links to where in USA I can get new ph probe and possibly a temp probe

Try ReefBytes.com.
I suggest you get GHL probes.
They do last longer than reg probes.
IMO it's worth the extra $$$

Familiar looking probe :)

Take your pick I think the probes there start at about $1.50 for 50
http://www.alibaba.com/products/F0/ph_probe.html

The starter probe we supply with GHL packs costs us $24.00 straight from the manufacturer in Henan province.

The GHL probe is made in Germany and is used in German labs and universities, totally different product it even comes with a batch certificate for lab use.

The reason the GHL probe failed as mentioned above is due to the wire end being submersed. The probe was also offered to be replaced for free as a gesture which was refused.

But this is an old story probably the 3rd time dragged up. Where as you will be hard pressed to find any other complaint on the GHL pH probe. Now considering how vocal some users can be complaining on a forum you would think there would be a few if there was an issue.

Lets hope this is the last time this one story is re-lit.
