pH probe storage

I was wondering what options i have for storage? The cap is low on fluid (about half full) and im worried itll dry out. can i simply submerge it in the tank water in the mean time until its set up?

I keep my PH probe in my sump at all times and remove it only for cleaning once a month.

read to store in the 4.0 cal solution, though I'm like the poster above, just keep in the sump
