What do your swings look like?
What is your min / max / avg?
What's too high?

Mine is 7.6 to 8.0. I don't dose yet and just do water changes weekly with reef crystals. Hopefully the new tank will run a bit higher. I added an external air supply on the new tank for the skimmer in hopes of driving it up.

I never monitor ph.

I use to check PH same time of day when i tested everything. Now its maybe once a month (not even sure why i do that). Never really chased PH numbers. If you have a good skimmer, open windows every now and then, dose on a consistent basis and do water changed. Don't see the need for PH checking.

If you have a lot of people in the room it will lower your PH. The end result of breathing is Co2. Every holiday we have a lot of people in the room the PH will drop dramatically for a couple days. Outdoor air intake on the skimmer will help.
