After I purchased my new controller last month, I began to closely watch my pH. Closer than ever before. It naturally steeles out at 7.7 or so during the night, even witht he fuge light on 24 hours a day. During the day, I "may" break 8.0, but not likely - I come close...
It has been suggested that the ro/di resivoir that I use is supplied by water from our very own Lake Michigan, which, arrives to us with a slightly lower pH. (due to the rock formations and the geological considerations.) I am not disputing individual well water conditions here. I'm only looking at those of us with L.Mich. water.
Is anyone (that uses Lake Mich water) seeing this as well? I mean, is anyone else maintaining an 8.0-8.3 pH without an additive?
Since I can easily walk up to my tank and add, say, 16 teaspoons of the Seachem pH adjuster.. I ask myself about the ramifications of adding that much sludge to the tank... I am contemplating adding something to my top off water to raise this more "automatically"
