Water flow if low is a great way.As with somthing like a HOB filter to break surface tension. Water changes? And alway test in the morning as this level will change from morn to night.

Hang on back filter. How much water was changed? What was the water source? Whats used for water movement?

8.8 maybe higher im using aqaurium pharmeceuticales high range ph drops and instant ocean salt

What's the PH on the water when you mix it? I have seen Instant Ocean and Reef crystals have problems here recently. You might want to really test your water that you mix. What's the CA+, ALK, and so on. It may end up being in the salt mix and if so you may want to try a different mix.

Sounds like a testing error, take a sample to the LFS and have them test it.

Could be. I agree. Is anything stressed out or unhappy? I use API for my PH and 8.3 - 8.8 is very little difference on color chart. So the big question is, are all the animals happy?? If so don't try to fix what isn't broken!

Good Luck!

sorry went to sleep. i have a iwaki md70 for a 150gl with 2 returns for circulation and 1 rio 1700 power head in the tank

sounds like you are replacing evaporated water from your tank with pre-mix salt water, you should be using just ro water.
