im having trouble with phosphate in my system.
i was wondering what you guys would think would work better

phosphate reactor or

cheeto in a cup with holes for water flow in my aquarium

Depends on the source of the phosphates. It may be due to overfeeding, not using RO/DI water, accumulation of detritus on the sand bed, etc. It's always best to directly address your source.

In the meantime, however, a phosphate reactor (Two Little Fishies or Bulk Reef Supply's Dual Reactors) would work well. I wouldn't put chaeto in the main display, in case my fish or other livestock nip at it.

I use a combination of both - but as mentioned above - figure out the source and get it there. Most (pretty much all) fish won't touch the cheato, but if they do - consider it a free lunch!
