How would you compair them to Iwasaki 15k.

I see no aquaconnect 175, is phoenix is same bulb..?

Hi Charlie,

The 15k 175w Iwasaki is a PAR monster! This lamp gives output similar to what a lot of 250w 10k lamps do, and most certainly more than the 175w Phoenix and Aquaconnect. The Phoenix and Aquaconnect are actually two separate lamps when it comes to the SE lamps.

Too funny You just about used the same words I did earlier on another forun here on RC.
Does aquaconnect make a 175? Are the Phoenix and the aquaconnect @ same color?

That is funny! Have you had a chance to run the 15k Iwasaki?

The Aquaconnect is going to be more crisp, ice white in the 175w SE configuration, where the Phoenix is going to be more blue and less light output.

Running the Iwasaki on display tank. After a week, I am liking them.
I was thinking of dropping to 175w from 400w radium over frag tank (48x24xx12 tall)
That is why I am asking about other bulbs.

What are you supplementing the Iwasaki with, if anything?

The 400w Radium is my favorite halide bulb of them all, especially when running them on the 400w "hqi" magnetic ballast. However, if I switched away from that I would go with either the 15k Iwasaki or 10k 250w Ushio supplemented with VHO actinic.

2-96w PC actinic, 2hr before mh and 2hr after.

I liked the 400 20k reeflux better than the radium400. It seemed to have much more punch, and colors (coralvue dimmable ballast)

I am running the Iwasaki on ARO.
