With Phoenix 14k bulbs no longer being produced Im wondering if anyone has found a good alternative 250w DE bulb?

brs has them. so does Hamilton, sos bulbs will have them in august. they have been brought back into production

Dave, you can already order the phoenix light bulb that at one time was rumored to be out of production. Check websites above that "tlc" stated.

I called BRS and they told me that Phoenix 250w 14k bulbs were not being made anymore as of three months ago.

BRS Purchasing stopped ordering/stocking them a while back.

But with the overwhelming amount of people switching back to MH and the demand going up.... Phoenix has started producing these bulbs again and alot of the main online retailers have brought them back into stock.

I just ordered some this week from AquaCave.com

I got an email a couple of days ago from Soslightbulbs. This is what it read:

Don't wait around to place your order these may be only available for a limited time! Place your order today SOSLightBulbs.com/brands/Phoenix.html

Dave, was having the same problem with finding a replacement for the 14k Phoenix. Went with one new style Hamilton 20k bulb and put it side by side with my Phoenix 250 watt both driven by an M80 ballast and one cant tell the difference unless I tell you which side is which. Now I have all Hamilton 20k bulbs and they are in my opinion a great replacement for the Phoenix. Really excellent job by Hamilton matching the spectrum of the Phoenix. Now have 2 each 250 watt and one 150 watt that is in the middle which runs on an electronic ballast and couldn't be happier. With Phoenix coming and going will stick with the Hamilton since I feel they are here to stay. Hope this helps.
