Phosar from Warner Marine

Any suggestions about a newer product called phosar from warner marine.It is the same thing as Rowaphos but in a pelletized form.I have been using Rowa in a two little fishies reactor with great results.This stuff is a little cheaper.Just was wondering if anyone has heard of it or is using it and how.Any feedback would be great, thanks.

But if it is in a pellet form can it be used in one of those phosban reactors or it onlly can be used in a filter bag?

I just got an order or this today. It was recomended on this forum about a week ago. They call it pellets but it is a lot finer product than I was expecting.

Yes I have been using it since last June and so far it si my favorite after using Rowa and Phosban. PHOSaR can be used either in a bag (which I think will get better flow than other media) or very effectively in a reactor. I wanted to test if it could damage any critters in my tank so I used almost 3.5 times the recommended amount of 1 gram per gallon, nothing had a bad reaction but the amount was so much that it has lasted too long as of yesterday I still get undetectable Phosphates and it has been installed it in the reactor since last June 18!
I would have expected that after so long the stuff would be all clumped in a big rock (Like it used to happen to me with Rowa and Phosban) but no, apparently the flow is so uniform because of the pellet form that it does not let it clump.
It also seems to be a bit heavier so I can use slightly higher up flow which I think also helps.
I do not think it has higher capacity for adsorption but because it will not clump it lasts longer really taking all the capacity.
By the way another thing I like about it is that it was a lot easier and faster to rinse with less fine particles than Phosban or Rowa.
By the way I think Warner has a new version in the works that will have twice the capacity.
I really try different things to see if there is something better out there an usually I have found little differences to recommend one over the other between products functionality. I yet have to try all phosphate adsorbers out there but so far between Rowa, Phosban and PHOSaR, the latest has clear advantages.
If you have low phosphate input and you have a refugium I would recommend to use half the recommended dose for maintenance purpose.

Before anyone asks: yes, that is a kalk reactor he is using for the Phosar, yes, his equipment is all that clean, yes, that tag indicates the date he added the media, yes, he has those little tags on everything, and finally, yes, Jose is a MANIAC!
