Phosban Reactor question

I just picked up a Two Little Fishes Phosban Reactor 150. I got a Rio 50 pump for it, and am planning on running PuRA PhosLock in it.
Is this right?
Any information on these would be great before I hook it up and start running it.
I plan on running this on my 75gallon.

good stuff just use the media bag if it comes with one because the 2 little reactor sponge is to course. the rio seems small but is the phos goes down then it's working

I just re-read the box and realized the Rio does appear too small.
Any recommendations on which maxi jet I should use? I have a few of those just laying around.

i use a maxi 600 and use a y adapter. you cant have too much flow or it will make the phosban rub against each other and kill your fish. you can see them sense you are using a two little fishes setup. just make them move a little.

I'm running two phosban reactors, both powered by a rio 600 with a "Y" adapter. The output of both is very very low flow. You really wan the flow output to be minimal.

any way you can tee it off from your return? that way you wouldn't add another pump.

i've never used mine with the media inside a bag. i thought it was supposed to lightly turnover inside the canister. i would think if it was in a bag, most of the water would just pass on the outside of the media.

you want low flow going through the reactor just enougph to tumble the top of the media I dont see why your pump wouldent work just dont throttle it back

some of the phos media like rowa is very small and will enter the tank. we found that out the hard way. it says not to use the bag in the chamber but that will limit you in the media you use. you can losely install the media in the bag and then you can get some flow out of it. or use a finer sponge inside of the chamber but don't know how that would effect the flow rate through it

i use rowa phos without a bag. what kind of problems did you have? just wondering. i let the water flow out of the reactor into a bucket until it is clear.

i do see the rowaphos residue/pieces in my sump. i've never removed it though. guess i should? lol.

the problem is the media ends up into the tank and some say it's okay and some say it's not but i would like to be on the safe side.
and according to rowa you are not supposed to rinse. this stuff still was moist out of the sealed bag and nothing happened in the first 24 hours but then the media ended up in the tank.

you dont want to attach it to your return pump from what i hear. its not a constant gph.

all pumps put a constant gph give or take alittle. two little fishes reactor directions show you can but i would not recommend. the way it got back to the tank is the secondary pump runs 2 reactors along with the skimmer and dumps back into the sump and then got pick up by the return pump. the only way i would recommend to use the main pump is to mount the reactor over the sump and before you return to the tank tee off and dump back into the sump.
