Ive isolated my source of po4 pollution to be coming from the barrels I use to store ro/di and mix my make up salt water in. These barrels contained a detergent type chemical for cleaning steel prior to being painted. Thru testing Ive confirmed they are leaching phosphate into my water supply. I thought I had them well cleaned out but apparently no amount of cleaning/flushing will get all the po4 out. Since I have all the barrels hooked up and plumbed into a complex pump/valve system Im asking if there is anything I can "seal" the insides with? polyurethane? paint? I dont want to replace them unless I have to.
