Phosphate media which one?

I have been using the Fosters and Smith branded GFO. It's called Phospure. It's on sale for $26 for 795 grams. It comes damp and the moisture accounts for 10% of the weight ( I measured). But that is still over 700 grams for 26 bucks. From what I can tell, it works every bit as well as Phosban. I use it as preventitive in the 90 gallon. But, the 8 gallon nano I had a hair algae problem. Was using the White aluminum/ceramic based media to no avail. As soon as I switched to the Phospure, the hair algae began dying off on the LR, within a day or 2, and is now gone. Just a little remains in the substrate and it is dying off everyday. 90% of the HA in that nano is gone within 2 weeks. That's with all of 10 grams of the media in a media bag. I just changed it out for new day before yesterday.
So, if you want to save some money, give the stuff a try.
