Phosphate remover/Phosban Reactor

Just I was reading a thread on here and became confused about something. I run a Mag canister filter and run carbon 24-7. I also run my phosban reactor the same. I never test for phosphate because of what I have heard about the inaccuracy of the test. My question is: Am I not suppose to run my phosband reactor 24-7? In not doing so I read where someone said the coral colors improved. What's the truth of the matter?

I run phosphate remover 27-7 but only at half dose. Some acros stress out if you pull phosphate out of the system too fast.
