Phosphate Sponge - How long?

Hi all. I just installed my phosban reactor with Kent Marine Phosphate Sponge in it. My question is how long do I leave the media in it before it has to be replaced? Does it last as long as carbon, ie, replace every month? The instructions say to replace initial charge after 2 days and then for maintenance just replace regularly. How often is regular? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Iwould thing regularily would mean montly since that is when most things like that are done doing there job.
