Phosphate

Yeah... introducing phosphates with water and then wasting GFO to remove them is counterproductive. Fresh DI resin and the second DI filter should fix that.

Flakes tend to be really high on phosphates for some reason. I had to give up on Formula 1 and 2 flakes because of high phosphates. Spectrum pellets, a variety of frozen food (90% frozen 10% pellets) and liquid coral food is all I use now.

I have 2 clowns, 2 blue damsels, a white spot blennie, 1 royal gramma, 3 cleaner shrimp, 1 bubble anemone, 1 elegance coral, 1 bubble coral, a few types of mushrooms, and a couple softie frags. There are also several nassarius snails too, but my nitrates are at 0.

Usually just 1 small pinch of 1 dry food daily for the fish and 5 drops of the coral vitilizer every other day. All my fish are under 2" so it don't take much. I just replaced the gfo and carbon so I will take a few more readings in the morning.
