Rules for the Photo contest are.

1. The items photographed for the contest must belong to
the person/household who submits the photo.
(Meaning All photos must be of your fish, so don't run
over to your friends house and borrow his fish for this contest).

2. It does not matter who takes the Photo as long as you own
the subject matter.

3. One entry per person.

4. All entries must be submitted before 03/10/07

All entries will be posted on a special page where
the CVRC community will vote for their favorites.

The top 3 community votes will be reviewed by a panel of judges.

The judges will base their decisions on various artistic qualities
such as but not limited to,

(color, composition, layout, lighting, mood, etc)

You get the idea. The final winner will be announced the day of
the next meeting where the prize will be awarded.

Okay we have 3 entries. Come on get them sent in. Then post here. That will keep this thread moved to the top. And I know to look for it in the email.

I'm gonna try to get some pics in before the deadline. I've got a few fish to take pics of, but they are all my favorite, lol. Maybe I can get a group picture. JK, I know it has to be a single fish.

You know technically "fish" is a plural of fishes :)

Just center the photo on one fish if you happen to have others in the BG don't worry about that.

I am very interested, but I don't have a camera that compares to others at all, I think this is a great contest, but without that advantage it seems useless.

A good camera does not make a good photographer no more than a $1000 guitar can make someone sound better. Photography is an art, composition is judged above all other criteria. Enter, you never know until you try.

Plus the prize for this will be AMAZING! I promise :)

Reef4Fun at 400 x 600 the camera doesn't have to be great for good pictures. All higher mega pixel cameras do is allow you to enlarge the picture without losing quality. At 400 x 600 the capabilities of your camera are less important. You don't need it to enlarge for the contest, even a 1.2 mega pixel camera will take a picture good enough to enter.

So go ahead and get snapping those pictures. I expect an entry form you by morning. LOL

But seriously do enter. It is after all the only way you can win.

I'm with Reef4fun! I don't own a digital! I'll find someone with a camera.

Mary,
I have been reading the threads and looks like several people folks still have freshwater. I assume "My Favorite Fish" would include fresh and salt fish belonging to you? Just a question to maybe get more photos coming in!

Im afraid we have to stick to SW on this one guys but like we said get your entries in because someone is going to win and if it's you you will be glad you entered.

Come get those pictures in. I still only had 3 as of this morning.
That would make all submissions winners. So come on now we need more pictures. And with 3 prizes it is still not over. Come someone send a really great picture. Or anyone. I am telling you guys with 400 x 600 max sizing on this any camera will do.

That would make all submissions winners.

Im afraid we can not do that this time, there will be only one 1st place winner this time. I will consider 1st 2nd 3rd prizes if and when we have more entries.

Is that the reason the max size is so low?

I have no idea why the size is what it is, ask Ron as that was part of the rules he posted for the January Contest. I was just using the same size he used.

But yes that would give lower resolution cameras a better shot at winning. Lower resolution cameras will look just fine at small sizes, but loose quality as the size increases.

Okay people I am going to extend the deadline til Midnight Sunday Night. That gives you 2 extra days. Mainly because I have so much stuff going on this weekend I don't have time to do the voting page and up load the pictures and what have you will up load everything sometime Monday Night so please remember to vote early.

Thanks
