My D50 is coming in the mail and was wondering what is a cheap or free photo editing program I can get. I don't need a program that can change an entire pic into something completely different, just to correct color, sharpen pics and the other simple things. thanks
Adobe Elements 5.0 is a really good one and its 100 dollars and that is cheap compared to CS2 and stuff like that but if you want cheaper then I dont know
I might be mistaken but I believe the nikon D-series cameras come with basic photo editing software. I am getting a D70 and it come with nikon photo software, not sure if it comes on the D50. Good luck with it!
I would reccomend Nikon Capture. It is reasonably priced at ~$90 and works very well. I use it as a RAW editor for pictures from my D70 and D2h. Since it is from Nikon, it opens up the images with more accurate color IMO than other programs, including CS2.
If you shoot RAW, which I do exclusively, you can do just about anything from adjusting white balance, exposure, shadows and highlights, resizing, jpeg conversion, etc. You can go to www.nikonusa.com and download a trial version and check it out. I like it alot and use it for every picture I take.
