Photo of Montipora palawanensis

Here is an uncommon coral. I'm not sure why it isn't very popular. I hand picked it several years ago and it's one of my favorite Montipora right now. Veron says it's color can be blue and polyps green which would make for a nice specimen as well. If any coral could be called a brain coral I think this could be one.

Very nice Steve, I have one also with a little different coloring.

What color is it? I don't think I ever saw it.

Looks great Steve. I want a frag

You got it.

What lights do you have that under Steve, and high or moderate lighting?
Love the purple polyps.

It's in my 180, 8" down just off center, and mostly exposed. Currently I'm running 20K mh with Actinic/White and Super Actinic VHO. It did just as well when I ran the 50K for midday effect along with the other bulbs so it can take high intensity. Color hasn't changed since I turned off my 50K bulbs.

Nice pic of a purty coral Steve. I'd have cropped tighter cutting out the top and right.

Thanks for the critique. They are always welcomed and encouraged. Especially from accomplished photographers like yourself. I did try your suggestion but personally liked seeing a little of the overall shape as shown.
