JBJ stopped by MDHQ for a lunch & learn session today with our staff to show us around their new 20-gallon AIO frag tank. Coming soon to Marine Depot!

We'll have 2 of these tanks and JBJ's new 45-gallon rimless cube setup in our booth at Reef-A-Palooza October 12th and 13th at the OC Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa, CA. We acquired more information about the frag tank's features, benefits and specs:

• JBJ Rimless Aquarium Series, Model RL-20
• Rimless shallow frag tank with 20-gallon capacity
• All-in-one (AIO) style 3 chamber filtration system in back
• A black lid is also included to cover the filtration chambers
• The glass is bent/curved around the corners and is 6mm thick
• A tempered glass lid with clips is included
• A black egg crate is included and has black PVC feet/risers for support
• JBJ estimates the tank can fit 792 small frag plugs or 396 medium frag plugs
• A 16 watt pump is included with a flow rate of 266 gallons per hour and 120cm of head pressure
• The center column is designed to be spacious to accommodate a heater and chiller components
• It sounds like mechanical filter media (a large sponge) is going to be included
• JBJ is recommending their Pacifica LED and says the lid/cover is pre-cut to fit the Pacifica's mounting bracket
• There will be a couple of sold separately 36" aquarium stands available: a knockdown cabinet stand with a designated chiller area or a custom stand with a drawer to store fragging tools.

Do they sell the glass lid separately? Mine didn't come with one.

Hi hipower,

The 20 gallon frag tank does not include a lid. The easiest, and cheapest, option is to have a local glass shop cut a lid for you.

You can either have the lid cut large enough to sit above the aquarium. Or you can use the Mr. Aqua Aquarium Clips that we offer (item # AZ00481).

You are correct that the light has unfortunately been discontinued. There are a number of other lights that would work out for tht JBJ frag tank, but one of my favorite options is the Maxspect Ethereal which will give you full coverage, great controlability, and a whole lot of power.
