Here's a quick photoshop hack job illustrating how i want to set up the aquascaping in the new 125 gal tank. All the corals show are currently in my 90 gallon and are the actual shots. I did not place smaller stuff like zoos and shrooms.

Also i have included my fish list. I currently have no fish. Am i pushing it with the tangs? i am going to go small on the fish

Please give me feedback!

looks great. i did the same thing for my plans on my 75g so i could get a feal of how i want it to look but i used paint since i dont have any photo shop skills. but it come out pretty nice anyways. i did my aquascaping almost just like yours is set up.

while i am one who loves tangs and cannot have enough, the Powder blue may be pusing it as this is a very agressive tang, and the regal blue is one of the most timid.

Am i pushing it with the tangs?

Well, 4 tangs is a bit much for even REALLY large tanks... Let alone 4 tangs and a Rabbitfish in a 125...

I have a Flame angel and Yellow tang in my 75... I love the angel, and mine hasn't picked on my corals, but I don't have much in that tank besides, zoos, mushrooms, GSP and xenia... But be aware that they are nippers... I had to move my clam out of my Aquapod because my Lemonpeel angel was picking at it...

In my 135 I have a Gold Rim (white cheek) tang and a Kole Tang... The Gold Rim is similar to a Powder Brown and will stay fairly small as will the Kole... That being said, those two are a pretty good size for my tank and I wouldn't want any larger for one tank...

Naso Tangs get HUGE!!! You can ask Evil Mel on that one... She's just purchased a 240g so hers can spread her fins a bit...

And as Pickupman said, Powder Blue's can be pretty aggressive, Just ask Angela... LOL :D Hope this helps!!!

Yeah, above all, the Naso is going to be a nutrient sink. Mel had one in a 135 and it was too much...

Oh.. I didnt see that foxface and flame angel in there. yea, 5 herbivores is too much IMO. I keep a Kole and a purple in my 75, and I have had a yellow, naso, Mimic at one time or another. yes the naso gets big and are incredible eaters. the Yellows can also be very mean. mine used to attack any fish I added no matter what it was. it was a viscious fish. needless to say it went back to AC. I ahve had my pruple for about 2 years now and it has a much better demeanor. heck when I added my Kole about 2 months ago, they barely squared off, and were buddies in 12 hours or less

ok ... so do you think i will be fine if i loose either the PBT or the naso? Probably the naso as he will grow pretty big?

The powder blue i will get small and i think i might loose the foxface too and just get smaller fish like anthias

So it would be:

1 PBT
1 Yellow or purple tang
1 Blue hippo tang
1 Flame angel
2 percs
a few anthias
a few small cromis

Does that sound cool? I am a bit bummed though nasos are one of my fab fish :(

Thanks again for all your help guys i cant wait to get this rolling! I dont know if i am more excited about the house or the tank!

keep in mind that the PDB tang is very aggressive and hte blue hippos is the exact opposite. the pdb will likely demolish the hippo unlessyou add the hippo first. If you are deadset on the fish listed, add the pdb tang last.adn 2nd to last the yellow or purple tang.

the tank is a 6' -- 125 gallon ... i am upgrading from a 90.

I thought a PBT would not mess with the blue hippo because of the difference in their shape. If anything, i am more worried about the PBT messing with the yellow or purple. also the PBT will be added last and will be the smallest of the bunch.

Am i wrong in thinking this?

Most PBT's will mess with anything and everything... Not just conspecifics... Just an FYI...

I second CT from first hand experiance with the PB! I added a pair of sweet clowns this week and noticed a few bite marks on the onyx yesterday. Basically he bites anyone he can catch in his way. I am hopeing the 7' tank will chill him out and I am actually going to hold him out in a QT till ALL my fish are added, even some I want to order for the tank. Hopefully the others will be established enouph to hold there own against the bully. I am kinda tempted to ditch him for a regal even though I like the PB better but mine seems exceptionally mean :(

ok ... then i am not going to be stubborn about this ... THE PBT IS OFF THE LIST :)

ok so what bout:

1 hippo tang
1 small yellow or purple
1 small naso

i have seen nasos in much smaller tanks... do you really think a 125 is not enough?

It'll be fine for a short period of time... :) If conditions are good it'll outgrow your tank in a year or two... Those Blonde Naso's are wicked nice... So, it might just be the excuse you need to upgrade in the future... lol If you plan to stick with your 125, I'd suggest a Powder Brown, if that tickles your fancy...

it really depends on the tangs. i have a 270 gallon and here is my fish list.

blue hippo tang
red sea sailfin tang
sailfin tang
purple tang
tomini tang
2 foxface
blue niger trigger
2 perca clowns
clarki clown
cinniman clown
tomato clown
saddleback clown
bangi cardnal
coral beauty angel
2 six line wrasse
3 blue damsels
6 blue chromis
snowflake eel
unknown green eel
2 banded shrimp
5 starfish
and a few other little creatures

and they all get along pretty well.

i also have quite a few corals in here as well
