Photoshop Elements 7 question

I have a picture that is a rectangle, it's about 800 x 300.

I want to take the bottom corners and round them off, is there a way to do that in Elements? I've been trying and cant find an easy way.

I eventually just used the eraser tool to do it, but it looks like a 2 year old did it, it's definitely not a perfectly smooth bended corner.

Anyone know how to do what I want to do?

Use the rounded rectangle tool and create a new layer.
