You can see small evidence of manipulation but if I took more than a few minutes it would be very hard to tell. Think about that next time you are buying online and cant see it in person. Obviously they're not gonna change things quite this much but I have seen a few sites that I can tell have saturated colors in pictures of their corals.

interesting, ive seen a few photos that looked very odd, is there a sure way to tell if its been photoshopped? change the color of some clownfish, like green with white stripes next

Like this?

I just did that after I read your post to see how easily it could be done and it only took one photoshop tool to do (color replace). You can sometimes see where oversaturated colors bleed but its hard to tell if the person really knows photoshop

thought I'd add one of mine for fun. There are those who never questioned the truth of the photo, and instead wondered how my firefish got so big. lol

Not exactly just lassoed then feathered then changed stuff. You're avatar is impressive I'm definitely not a master of photoshop just trying to show how easy it can be to manipulate coral and fish images if selling online. Do you have a higher resolution image of your avatar that I could see?

WOW. The images on that site are incredible, I can't imagine how much skill and time those must have taken. Photoshop is one of the most amazing programs ever.

Man, I'm so jealous. I got an A in advaced digital photo in high school, I used to do some really cool stuff. It was so fun. but I don't have photoshop anymore :(

those are awesome!

Rhino-clowns!!!!

sk8rreefgeek: Do a search for software called "The GIMP"... just as powerful as photoshop, but it's open source and free.

Thanks. I wish I had a larger image of it but I made it probably 4 years ago and lost all of my files when my computer crashed awhile back.
