Okay so I didn't use a picture of my Coral tank but I didn't have one handy from work that fit my needs. I need to know how to fix the tank edge distortion so i can crop properly without losing any of the tank in the picture. I know there is a tutorial out there cause I have seen it but couldn't remember the keywords to use. Hopefully somebody knows what I am talking about!

This is one way to do it:

1. Right click on the eyedropper tool and choose the measure tool.
2. Now draw a horizonatal line across the area your wish to straighten. In this case the water line in the aquarium will work.
3. Selecting Image -> Rotate Canvas -> Arbitrary… brings up a dialog box telling us the line we drew was 0.1 degrees CCW from the horizontal. We select OK and the canvas is rotated so the line is now horizontal.
4. Now use the crop tool to take out what you don't want.

thanks mcary but that's not what i wanted to do, I already know how to fix the horizon!

I want to move the left and right edges outward to match the red lines I drew!

You can do that by enlarging the canvas and then select the entire image and do a free transform.

A bit too much on the bottom there. Might also want to crop out just the tank so that your tank is more defined by itself.

I agree it is a bit too much at the bottom but I was trying to work quickly. I didn't crop because I was wanting to show the before and after, but your right it would look better cropped and was the entire reason i wanted to know how to do this.

I'll post a cropped version shortly.

Can you go over again step by step how you did that.... I got as far as the free transform but I didn't know what to do with it after that.

After you select free transform, select distort and you can pull the corners out to straighten the image.
