phyto alternatives

I have tried to culture phyto many times and i have had not luck at all. I have heard that there are other things you can use to culture rotifers beside phyto that you dont need to grow. does anyone know any names of these?

I use the rotifer diet from reed just ordered another bottle today. easy to use.
