If you have filter feeding mollusks or other invertebrates, you can feed with store bought live phyto (DT's, for example). On the other hand, you can produce your own (there are several threads regarding the process of cultivating live phyto). If you don't really have any invertebrates that need to be fed, phyto will just be an extra source of unwanted nutrients.
