I found a pic and it looks like they are in fact juvis. I will try to post pics tonight. They are about 2 in. long, have only 1 long dorsal spine, and more of a red color. Not much if any yellow, of course that could be stress related.
juv./females do not have any dorsal fin spikes...if it only has one spike then they are not carpenteri they would be either mccoskeri, flavianalis, or rubricaudalis....caprenteri have 2-4 filamnets on thier dorsal fin
Ok I guess I was right the first post. Looks like I have 3 males. I am guessing flavianalis. Is there any way to introduce females when I can get them? Will I have to cut down to 1 male? They all ate well on mysis tonight.
that is mccoskeri...note the single filament on the dorsal and the red outer part of the anal fin...and if they all look like that then yes you have three males..not juv.
Mccoskeri are what I was looking for initially but could not find them as juvis. Websites have different pics for the same fish(as far as dorsal spines go) so I had a hard time telling them apart. They are great looking fish even if I did not get the juvis. I will just have to keep an eye out for some females. Thanks wrasseguy2.
I was wondering the same thing, as wrasses with 1 filament came in as carpenter's. Was doing great for 2 days, ate like a pig, then suddenly died about an hour after I came home from work. Never came out of it's sleep cocoon.
