I happened to stop by country max yesterday and saw this anemone that looked a lot healthier than anything else I've ever seen in there, so I figured i would buy it and give it a fighting chance. Got him home drip acclimated him, set him on the sand, he moved about two inches and set his foot on the bottom and has been there ever since. He seems pretty content. They were selling it as a carpet anemone.

I stopped into a 'Country Max' for the first time ever yesterday.
It's a great place for certain things, but I don't think they should be selling marine fishes (let alone invertebrates).
Congrats and good luck with your new anemone. Let us know if you need any help with it.

Yeah I hear ya,
I usually go there for salt because its the closest LFS to me, but I never buy any livestock.
How often should I feed the anemone?, I would like it to grow big enough to possibly host my pair of clowns.
It ate some brine shrimp a couple minutes ago.

Thanks

That Sebae is very healthy looking compared to mine when I first got it. Mine was almost totally bleached.

Keep in mind that a health Sebae will extend 16-24" as mine has started to, so make sure it's got plenty of room.

I stopped directly feeding mine a little while back. It's in a position where I can feed the fish and excess food drops into the sebae, not the bottom of the tank. It's a win, win.

Recently my Gold stripe maroon clowns "found" the sebae and have started hosting in it over the Green BTA.

I deff agree Country Max prob shouldnt sell marine stuff but the fresh water seems to be healthy and more on the exotic side then most fish stores. The rest of the store(farmington) has a few interesting things also........

when I was into my anemone phase I usually fed a couple krill 3 times a week. the anemone does look healthy, sebea anemones are often dyed differant colors so they sell dispite the fact that they are not healthy. yours looks good, the brownish color is always a good sign.

Yeah ive been researching for quite some time, this is the first time I've felt confident enough to try an anemone, and I was considering one for a while now, then this one fell into my lap.
