pic. overdone?

I took this pic. with my casio exilim and have been told by others they were to white. could it be just my comp. monitor? and how would I know if the colors I am seeing are the same others would see? if you understand my question. lol

It looks to me as if they were a little over exposed. If you look at the centre of the zoo's, Goniopora polyps and the rock to the left of the Goni it seems "too white". On a side note the white balance may be off as well (unless your rock is baby blue). To try and combat the slight white wash just bracket the shot into the negative a small amount or speed up you shutter/close you aperture.

What you want to do is calibrate your monitor. With a properly calibrated monitor you can be assured that the colors/brightness look accurate on your own screen and hope everyone else is looking at the pics on a calibrated monitor-- that's the best you can do. I use the Color Sypder by Colorvision- I imagine there are other options but that's the one I know.
