Picasso and Snowflake sitting in tank.

Clown question for you guys.

About 6-7 months ago I bought baby Picasso and snowflake clowns. At the time both were tiny but the Picasso was noticeably larger.

They spent the first 3-4 months living amicably always together. Suddenly about 3-4 months ago they have been battling it out for dominance. It has looked like normal stuff chasing each other around one or the other or both convulsing. I have just assumed one of them would establish to become the female. Well like is said this has gone on for 3-4 months and now the snowflake has clearly established Dominance, but now the Picasso hangs out in areas by himself and every 10 min the snowflake seeks him out and makes him run and sort of nips him.

Will this pass once the snowflake turns female? Should I be taking one of them out? What should I do?

Although the Picasso looks sad and sort of scared and hiding he eats well and at night time they sleep together sort of occasional nipping.

Thanks for the help.

Sounds like she is now female, well in her pre-teens at least.

I had two cinnamon clowns, and they started the same sizeish. Once she turned female she would do this all the time. Then one day he started to be one step behind her and one to her left.

They lived a happy life together. I felt sad for him, but she ruled the tank.

Ok I am hoping with a little time this is the dynamic.

I used to entice her to eat at one corner, then feed him a little bit. She would catch on sometimes and scold him to the bottom and behind rock.

When she was out scouting he would venture over and look around. She would come back and he would jump right back to his place near the rock.

Funny to sit and watch.

Ocellaris and Percula pair. Their signal does not completely match so they pair a little rougher than normal Ocellaris-Ocellaris and Percula-Percula pairs. Same thing happened to me. I almost have to remove my Picasso before they got all their signal straight out.

Thanks man. I was tempted to pull the Picasso yesterday and put him in my frag tank but something in me tells me it will work out eventually.
