Picasso clowns are jumpers!

at least they are not carpet surfers. how bout some pics.

Or are they carpet surfers? Barrett ... what exactly are you trying to say?

If you can't take care of them, you might need to bring them to me to take care of.

Dave C called me a "Fish Mommy" today.

I had a picasso .... when i bought mine the guy at something fishy opened the lid on the aquarium and tried to net one out ..... 4 of them jumped straight out of the aquarium onto the floor

Picasso are extremely fast swimmers and will jump out b4 you even notice they are gone .... What's funny is when they dont jump and they get scared .... they play dead .... I always though my picasso acted more like a dog than a fish ... he swam back and forth all day long on the edge of the glass ... like a dog running up and down a fence

Unless DNA research establishes a link between the color morph they call Picasso and a propensity to jump, I do believe we have encountered fish bigots in our midst.

I can just see the movie ....

"Naked Clowns Can't Jump"

Barrett - I thought you were getting them this Friday...did you already get them?

I got them Tuesday. Kind of short notice. Their in my computer room currently. So here's the story. They've been in there since tuesday afternoon. I decided to check on someting in the computer room last night at about 8PM. I opened the door and the lights were off (sleepy time). Just as I stopped opening the door I noticed a "thump" that sounded awefully familiar. I turned on the light and looked in the general direction of the "thump" and sure enough, there was a fish sitting on the red lid of my Red Sea sample salt! After an exchange of stunned looks I got it back in the tank and it just swam off with its buddy like nothing happend. I put a screen over the tank and plan on going to Lowe's today. How do you know if its a true Picasso? The ones Vince mailed me don't look like the ones at MACNA. I'll get a pic on here tonight. They basically look like a pale Osc with an extra patch of white.

Well, if they are small, they may be colored differently, and develop the more striking abnormality as they get older.

My understanding is the Perculas continue to develop their stripes or patterns later, but Oscellaris don't.

Which are the Picassos?

I had many of the Oscellaris babies for 7 - 8 months and the pattern they had at 1/2" is the pattern they kept. On some of them, the orange would continue to darken and more black on the fins would develop, but the white on them didn't change.

Well, I don't think there is a set pattern. Maybe the ones you got just have less white patterning on than the ones we saw at MACNA. If you don't like them, I bet someone would be happy to take them off your hands. : )

Maybe these are Pinto Clowns instead of Picasso Clowns.

And maybe I just made that up and there is no such thing as Pinto Clowns. Kind of like horses ... anything with white where it shouldn't be is a Pinto

I checked the invoice and they are true perc's. Oh, no they don't look like the ones at MACNA but their adorable all the same!
Had a long day and didn't get the pics. Will do tomorrow sometime.
