I am interested in purchasing some Picasso Clowns from a LFS....I have searched and I do not find much information about them. Can anyone tell me more about these beautiful fish? Thanks. Oh and they are from ORA. Thanks again...

Are you serious?

From what I have seen there is at least one thread on every single page of multiple forums that talk about Picasso's! Use google.

No, they are not neceassarly created from inbreeding. A guy on this forum has a wild caught pair from the Solomon Islands that produce Picasso offspring. And if I'm not mistaken ORA got their orginal breeder male as a wild caught fish. Now, ORA may or may not be using wild stock or other unrelated fish to to keep the bloodlines fresh, or they may all be F1's from the orginal male, in which case there is no inbreeding whatsoever, who knows.

well I am sure that they must keep breeding parents that have the picasso pattern in order to ensure that the offspring will have a high chance of having that trait. I am sure they try and mix it up a little, but there must be a fair amount of inbreeding involved. as long as the parents don't have any horrible genetic problems you shouldn't see much side effects, other than the crazy white pattern that is.

I don't know but they're sure beautiful fish. Be sure and post pictures when you get them. :D

Eklikewhoa be nice!
