I've had these fish for 2.5 years. They never really showed much interest in eachother, swam on opposite sides of thier tank for years.
Two weeks ago I had a skimmer pump burn out in my system and I did 2x 50gallon changes that day followed by 15g everyother day until today. I'm guessing stress may have triggered them to fully bond and breed or maybe it's just all the clean water got them excited...
I can't get a picture of the eggs, they are on the bottom of an overflow and on the magfloat right next to it but it's all behind a power head and I don't want to scare them by moving it.
It's been over 2 years since I last raised fry but i'm excited to give it another shot. My favorite part is seeing all of the variations that come from 1 pair of fish.
Wish me luck:celeb1:
