just wondered if these fish are known to just suddenly die shortly after shipment? reason i ask is i put one on hold for 24hrs at lfs & was told the next day that it had died b4 closing less than 6 hrs later after putting on hold. the picasso had very vibrant colors & didnt look sick at all. he was well filled out also & swimming around. now like i said this fish had just arrived earlier in the day so maybe it was stressed & it wasnt apparent. the fish guy did say that he noticed the fish was doing some kind of downward spiraling later that night just shortly b4 he found it dead. i just wish he would tell me the truth if he actually sold it to some1 else but who knows maybe it did just die ........oh well just had to vent.
i really wanted that trigger but im sure ill move on......lol

i received one thru foster & smith. did fine thru shipping & going in tank. very tuff fish. ate very next day.
doing well so far. been about three months now

I had a similar situation, I know they are one of the most hardy fish you can get though. I bought one for my newly cycled tank. he was about 3 inches long. I put him in my tank and he was eating within a few hours, the next day he hid in the rocks the entire day, the day after that, he was dead. Didnt have any signs of disease either. This was about 4 or 5 months ago. I still plan on getting another one from a better source like liveaquaria.com
