I just thought I would share a couple videos of two of my pairs.

The first video is a pair that I expect a spawn from in the next week or two. The female is a regular true perc, believed to be from the Solomon Islands. The male is a Grade A Picasso. You can see in this video that the female is getting chunky and the male was not vey happy that I was pointing the camera at him...

The second video is a pair that I am expecting a spawn from within the next three months, they have been showing some signs of cleaning, but not a ton yet. The female is wc from Bali and was purchased from another hobbyist in NY. They male is a low grade Picasso. They should make some very nice looking
offspring.

Enjoy!

Thanks! I sure like em and I'm pretty stoked to see the offspring. The pair with the wc female should result in some really cool progeny...

Thank you, they are a pretty cool pair. The past few days they have exhibited increased pre-spawning behavior. I paired them up just about a week and a half ago, but they are really settling in nicely. I'm thinking a spawn should happen in the next month or two max.

Both are awesome pairs Colby. The male in the first video looks like he wants to fight you lol. You should have posted this in the breeding forum.

Yeah he is a tough guy lol. I hadn't put it in the breeding forum as they haven't spawned yet, but if that's where it should be I'd appreciate if a mod could move it for me.

Here is an updated video of the second pair, they seem to know whenever the camera comes out and stop cleaning lol, but they seem to have picked the spot for their eggs. I am pretty impressed with the speed at which they have settled in seeing as how they have only been together in the tank for a few weeks.

Those definitely are some awesome picassos. I was looking for those for quite some time locally, but to no avail. Terrific looking fish....

Thanks, they are pretty cool looking.

And no worries rkelman.

It'll will be nice to have some picassos on the market that are totally unrelated to the ORA fish.

Beautiful fish. Good luck with them. From the looks of the fish it doesn't really look like either male is mature enough to be spawning anytime soon but I wonder if you will benefit from the fact that it is the males, not the females, that are younger. Anyway, good luck.

Jdreefer, I'm sorry but I'm not totally sure I understand your post. The pairs are two male/female pairs. And I have owned well over 100 breeding pairs of clowns, and raised thousands of clownfish, which luckily has given me the necessary experience to understand my fish, which is why I am comfortable making guesses on spawn dates lol. Of course I have had black ocellaris clean for months before spawning...

However my experience with percs leadd me to believe spawning for both pairs will be soon. Come to think of it my Onyx are cleaning like mad too... :)

No offense meant. Unless the coloration in the videos is a little deceiving, it looks like the Picassos are still young. They haven't developed much black in them yet. I could be wrong though...I am wrong all the time.

How 'bout we make a friendly bet, out of the kindness of my heart, I will agree to buy your first pairs of Snowcassos if they spawn in the next week.;)

Gotcha, yeah it is true the males are still young, less than a year old. However, clwons can spawn as fully functioning males at four months of age. It is the females that take 12-18 months to mature.

Lol, ok if they spawn this week ill send you the first snowcasso pair... :)
