Picked up 2 nices pieces at a frag trade - pics

One guy had a couple of Acans that he was willing to trade but nobody had anything he wanted so he said he would sell them for $5 a polyp. I knew that was a good price so I bought one. I have it high under the pcs in my 12 nano and I think it looks pretty good but I would like some opinions. Is it open and puffy enough? It does eat well. I am planning on moving it under a 150 HQI in a month or so but it will be lower in the tank. Anybody know what type of Acan Lord it is? I've seen several that looked similar and I don't know which it is.

Also got this in a trade for some zoas. It has great polyp extension even when the lights are on. If it continues to do well and doesn't start getting algae on it I'll probably leave it in this tank. If algae starts to grow I will move it into a lower light tank with seahorses.

I'd really like any advice anybody has on Acans because I know I'm going to want more.

Hi Mary,

You're jealous? Haha! I saw that zoa frag you picked up on the sale forum. That was SWEET! When ya gonna frag it? :D

IsThis... Thanks, I feel really fortunate to have gotten Acan for that price. the Gorg is nice, too, and I couldn't beat the price - free. A LFS in the Raleigh area has a frag swap every few months. They have food and a speaker- very customer oriented. There are some newbies who are just starting up and then some folks have gorgeous SPS. I sold off 5 frags of my zoas for $3 each to newbies and put the $15 toward my Acan frag. I was happy.

lol...haha

I really am, I don't have either one of those they are beautiful !!!

You know it seems we never can find a end to what we can put in our tanks. Mine are just not large enough..lol It's just amazing at all the corals that are out there. All the different colors of zoo's there seems to be NO end.
