Pickeling lime in my tank

I am contemplating using a pickling lime siphon drip to my tank. does anyone have any current advice on this. I have read the article http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2005-01/rhf/index.php i think it dates back to 2005. is this all still relevant?

Nothing has changed regarding kalk dosing. Make sure you have safety precaustions to prevent lime water overdose. If somethings happens and you dump too much kalk water in yoru tank at one time it can cause problems.
