Very nice. So what type of fish is that in the first pic? I was thinking wrasse but not 100% certain.

Nice job on the sunset too! We had a great one here Friday but, of course, no camera near by.

Lantern Basslet. Nasty little bugger. Watched him swallow a springeri dottyback that was just a little bit smaller than he was. Really funny to see the tail hanging out his mouth. I was in shock mode so taking a pic never came to mind till he decided to go into hiding. then it hit me. DOH!!!!

yeah its the kit lens, I know he got both with his camera I don't know which he was using in this pic though

is this using the stock lense or did you upgrade?

All three pics were taken with the stock 18-55 mm lens.

how much was the camera if you don't mind me asking?

Was 570.00. It was a demo at a camera store and came with 18-55mm lens and 55-200mm lens. If you go this route, check into extended warrenty. Paid 39 bucks for an extra 3 years.

Wow that is a great deal. I paid the full retail for a kit with the 28-135 IS lens. It is a good lens but I definitely am going to get a good macro lens soon. I love the way the 40D is set up. It is very intuitive. And the live view mode is awesome for macro photography.

Tough choice now is. Another lens or more corals to photograph.
