Pics of my 14 gallon biocube

Here's some more random pictures of my biocube...it's been up and running for almost a month now and I just moved it into my college apartment. Everything is doing really well, my mushroom coral is spreading and my pulsing xenia has a few small colonies now. The frogspawn/torch mutant coral is doing really well and is in my opinion, the coolest looking coral of all, I can't wait for it to get bigger. The tank houses 2 clowns and 2 neon gobies (I know its a heavy bioload but I do water changes twice a week to keep everything in check). So far I've modded the filtration by replacing the bioballs with live rock rubble and cutting the first slot a little larger to allow more water in the back. I plan on getting some chaeto for the middle chamber along with a skimmer if they ever make a small one that actually works.

Let me know what you think I should/shouldn't do witht he tank. My only other plans are a small finger leather and then letting it take shape on its own.

Nope, believe it or not but the majority of that cave setup is one gigantic rock just sitting on a cuople other small ones.

Hey there mdisalvo55, nice looking tank. Would you mind posting these pics on the nano-reef web site? There are several folks, me included that have the bio cubes and are looking for ideas for their tanks and how to setup the chambers. Thanks

I got really lucky a while back when somebody was taking down their tank and got a Lot of really nice lr for a really good deal. If you weren't in arizona I could help you out with it, I had some left over but have sold omst of it already. Basser-Sure I'll post the pics on nanoreef but I have to register first and all that good stuff...I'll do it either tonight or tomorrow(where should I post them). Thanks for the compliments everyone!

Wow! Nice setup.

Is that a Micro-Jet mounted to the side and flowing across the back of the cave?

Where do you run your water level in the last two compartments and how are your temps holding?

Are you using the stock filter cartridge?

GobyJohn-The pump on the back is from the JBJ nanocube (12 gallon) I had but it cracked so I just took the pump out and put it in the nanocube for extra flow. It's connected to the automatic timer to go on in the nighttime only so in the day its the flow from the pump that came with the tank then at night its both (I think it helps keep the temp normal at night). On that note, My temp has stayed around 78-79 all day and night so far with no problems at all (I'm really pleased about this as I didn't want to have to mess with it).

The water in the last 2 compartments stays about 2/3 full since I cut out the bigger opening in the first compartment. As for now, I'm using the original filter cartridge but I've cleaned it a few times now and I still can't seem to find the replacements anywhere...I'm also using this stuff http://www.marinedepot.com/aquarium_filters_pads.asp?CartId= in combination with the stock cartridge. I might be replacing the stock cartridge with just the Pura pad if I can't find the replacement anytime soon. So far this tank looks and functions extremely well and I'm very pleased with the results. The stand looks good and it gets compliments all the time.
