Pics of my changing Emperor

Bored tonight and thought I'd share the progress of my changing Angel.

Not sure how old he was when I bought him Mar of this year. He was 3.5" at the time. I took the "Sept" pic today. He's about 4.5" now. What a beautiful fish. He was really changing alot between May and July. The changes now are more subtle.

Anyone have any idea how much longer it'll take for him to be fully changed? A friend of mine says they can get "stuck" if they're stressed. Anyone ever heard of this?

Enjoy!

Mines just starting to change. Any advice to make sure it fully changes and doesn't retain juvenile coloring at all. Also how long did it take?

You probably already know the answer to that question. A healthy diet, conistent temp, and great water params. I target feed him 3x per day. He gets a good chunk of frozen Angel formula in the am, Formula 2 at noon, and Eric Bornemans fish food recipe at night. Actually I alternate between the EB recipe and Nori on a clip. My other inhabitants get Forumula 1, Spectrum pellets, Cycolpeeze, and thawed meaty foods. The Angel gets a bits and pieces of these as well.

I think he still has a little changing to do. He looks about 90% done to me. I bought the fish in Mar (I think he started to change in the store, as the first pic shows some yellowing), and took the last pic yesterday. About 6 months. Again, not sure how old he was when I bought him.

mine has been a SLOW process.......I am sure that he is still changing, but it has taken so far about 5 months......and I would only compare him to your june pic

All I can say is...look at the diff between June and July. He really started to change around then. During that time, I remember syaing tomy wife that I could see the changes happening everyday. Obviously exagerating, but you get my point.

If your fish is like the June pic...get ready for some serious color change in your tank.

No I wish...had to shut the tank down earlier this year. I miss this fish soo much. Thinking about getting another one.
