Cool looking!!! Question: is your substrate crushed coral?

--edit---

What size of tank and how much LR do you have?

its 30 lbs of aragonite and about 15 of crushed coral. I thought it gave more texture to the tank. its a 46 gal bow and I have about 51 or so lbs of live rock. Im thinking of adding more aragonite though but the rocks are all ready in place.

--edit--

Im getting a little bit of brown algea growth on the substrate. When should I get alarmed. It is a new tank.

The brownish algae you are seeing is common in new tanks. If after another week or so its still there, you can get rid of it quit easily. I simply syphoned mine of the sand, and aused a magnet cleaner for the tank to get rid of the brown algae on the walls.

As far as i know the algae feeds of phosphate mainly so getting rid of phosphate is probably the next step you probably need to go.

It's new tank, so diatoms are normal.... they'll be overrun soon by green hard alae, then cyano... and may reappear again... so, don't panic, it is all good. If you haven't got any cleanup crew (assuming your tank cycled) you can get some... and then add more as needed.

Crushed coral gives more texture and unfortunatelly traps lots of detrius. Which will give you more problems than just viewing pleasure. IMO, get rid of it.

Im running a really modest clean up crew. I plan on buying more tomorrow. currently I have 4 turbo snales and 1 cerith (sp?). What other animals would you suggest and how many?

Looks like you are running a Fluval canister filter. I would be careful of canister filters, they tend to become nitrate factories. Although it also depends on what kind of media you are running in the canister. Good luck, looking good so far.
