Pics of my new clowns

I finally bought 2 maroon clowns.
They were not a pair, but have not fought once.
Currently they are in my GBTA 24/7

looks like the smaller one just hasn't developed the gold yet, if you look close you can see it in his stripes.

That is correct
They are both gold stripe.
I am not sure if they are wild or tank raised..

They NEVER leave the GBTA

I would feel more comfortable if they were tank raised.

beautiful :) I love maroons, although mine werent so easy to pair up!! :)

edwing.. mine dont seem to have an issue with new tank mates. they both will show whos the boss the first day or so.. just by chasing them away from the nem or being aggressive while eatting, but by the second day all is calm. they really like hanging out with the tang.

I added a wrasse and a dottyback about 5 days ago, and there hasent been a single problem. although im courous if the story would differ if it was say, a flame hawk, being the same color/body style

reef.. whys that?

I have one tank raised and one wild. the wild adapted to the reef way better. swimming thru rocks right away and seeing other fish. the tank raised hung out at the top near a maxi and never touched a rock till i brought a nem in.

i have two wild cought maroons they are very healthy and really perfect genetic specimins
not like tank bred maroons that are all crosseyed and elongated i dont like what a tank raised maroon usually looks like
when mine start to spawn i will try and raise them to see if they look like the ones i see at the LFS

Those look beautiful. Could be tank raised they look dif than my wild caught maroon from Sumatra. I have mine with a Panther grouper and a Coral beauty Angel. No signs of agression from any of the fish. They sometimes school up and swim around. They are all the same size bout 3in. I know the grouper is going to get big. Sweet seing both of your clowns in the nem.

panther grouper will eat the maroons and the coral beauty

homebrew for what its worth you clowns are most likely wild caught since tank raised tend to be much younger when they are sold you have a real nice pair i like how the males and females have such different personalities with maroons
i see the gold in yours now my male had very little gold when i got him he has stayed very red but the gold keeps coming the female is growing fast and turning darker everyday yours will be dark maroon soon

Thanks GSM i did mention i know the grouper will get big and will be getting a larger home in 6 mo. He does try to fit everything in his but he is not so bold to eat a fish the same size as he is. LOL Though he is still trying to get the pep shrimp. My maroon was a bright red when i got him, now he is a she and has developed that deep dark maroon color. The gold stripes got more vibrant too.

he will get the shrimp he is just learning they are awsome fish i would love to have a panther grouper but they get about 16 inches and eat anything they can fit in their mouth so be ready to have a big tank with a ton of filtration for it

Yea the poor shrimp. I am going to sell my african cichlids, no more fresh water tanks. The grouper will go into the 72 bow. Until he out grows that and i will get a 180. The maroon is 3 in now i can hardly wait til she is 6 in long. She should be a real beauty.
