My clownfish are a wild caught, one is Onyx and one is misbarred.. already paired so it costed a bit more than individuals. I love them.. but I have seen much more blacker Onyx so I was wondering what is supposed to define Onyx?

My onyx is slightly smaller and he is the male and his fins are a bit nipped at often by the other. About 1-1.25" will more color change on either of them?

People have different standards for onxy. Some say the dorsal fin has to be black to be onyx, some say the black has to come up to the dorsal fin, but I believe most now say if there is black connecting between all 3 white bars it is considered onxy.

Your misbar'd one would not be considered onxy but it does look like it could still be developing so the color could come with age. It takes some true percs 18 months to fully color up!

I'm guessing by the looks of the 3rd bar on that one that its not done coloring up. I see shadow where there should be more white coming in.
