Pics of My Ric Garden

I am back where I started in the beginning of this hobby with a fascination with zoos and rics.

So yesterday I got a shipment of rics in from Coral Morphologic, A++ vendor, they were perfectly packed and 0 dead loss and very little stress on a 115 degree day in Phx. They sent an awesome mix of green, blue, pink, orange, and rainbow polyps and have the best deal on the web. Oh and did I forget to mention it was 115 yesterday!

I have them in a rubble lined nano til they attach, then they are moving over to the 120g.

These pics are from today 24hrs after acclimation. I will post some in a few days when they are fully acclimated and expanded. I am pumped about these rics! Hope you enjoy!

One more pic, top down. This is the front half of the tank the halide was creating a glare on the back half.

I am going to place an order there this weekend. Wish I would of known I would of went in with you. I think its free shipping past 250.

They look great.

Hermanx7,

They emailed me about group buys, if you put together 3 or more people, they give 10% off, free shipping at $250, they bag and label individuals orders, and they throw in a blue leg hermit for every $5.

You may want to ping some people around here to see if they want to go in so you can get a discount. Again I can't speak highly enough about them, the guys at Coral Morphologic were great!

Oh and one more thing to note, if you order. Due to Florida harvesting laws, they can only have a sliver of live rock on them. So the polyps ship loose, so make sure you have a system low flow enough that will give them time to attach. Otherwise you will have rics blowing all over the place.

Yeah its the same from reeftopia.com. They can only harvast loose rics. I find that if your lucky enough to have some small rubble or sand that the rics are attached to you can just glue that to a rock and your good. But low flow is a must to get them to attatch well. I have found at mid flow they will let go and good luck trying to save it after it went through a powerhead.
Thanks for the help.

I'm in. Let me know when the group buy is. THose rics look like someone dumped skittles all over the bottom of your tank!.

Shik, once they attach, they can handle medium flow, but before they do, they are as light as feathers and will fly around the tank with nearly any flow.

If you want them to attach, either do what OP did, put them in a small plastic tupperware with holes cut in it and some rubble if you don't have a 2nd tank, or use either super glue or bridal veil netting to temporarily attach them to a rock. They're very slippery, they secrete a lubricating mucous when touched, so they're incredibly hard to glue to the flesh.

Hermanx7 / Drtrash / Bluelair,

I pm'd you the info that Colin sent me to setup a group buy. You won't be disappointed and their frag pack is the best deal on the web for rics.

Good luck!
