Now what kept me sooo buisy for the month before I had her..... this is kinda a embarasing shot!

I Killed myself finishing sheetrock, primming and painting 900 square feet of new basement living and installing ceramic tile before the baby came. The carpet was installed on the 8th and I grouted the bathroom on the 9th. Wheew am I glad thats all done. I will spare you guys the pic of a 9 month preggo gal grouting the floor ;). Yes I also wore the same cloths all month as you can tell from the multiple layers of dirt and paint!!! LOL

Dad came through with yet another awsome peice of furniture for me....

This is one masive stand and canopy! Oak stained with red mohogany. The top raises, the front doors raise and all 4 base doors open. I still need to put tension hinges on the canopy and hardware knobs. I also have two raised panel side peices to cover the see through sides of the tank into the overflows and make the top and base look conected. I am hopeing to adhear them to the glass with an adhesive directly to the glass. Any suggestions? I guess I need to istall a peice of angle iron to keep the top from warping and stabalize it. Any suggestions? The top is 7' long peice of plywood encased in a oak rim with no real support to keep from warping. Dad had to intall wood cross beams on the 5 gallon because it wanted to warp so I am thinking soimething like a peice of steel to keep this thing straight with the heat and moisture? I haven't had the time to reaserch how huge spans on tops keep there shape yet. He built it and told me to figure that one out! Now if I can ever find time with little one here to fill it up!

And to top off my month my mother accidently poured 1 full cup of Randy's PH mix in a 20 gallon coral holding tankinstead of fresh water with $180 worth of new stuff in it!!! She called me about 9:30 at night in the hospital and said, "I think I did something wrong.....The tank got all cloudy" After I talked her through some major vingar emergency therapy for the tank (glad I had a new test kit) I think I have only totally lost 1 colony. Maybe 2 its still iffy. For anyone not familiar with how strong a PH buffer this is it takes only about a tablespoon to regulate my 80 every night. And it took only about 3 doses of 5 -7 drops of vingar to drop it. I think this was what it took so its a very strong base for sure! I have about 10 new zoas in there that all seem fine and the digi isn't affected so far. Neither are the shrooms or kenya tree. The 3 birdsnests and another mystery stony started dieing from the base. I have fragged and used the superglue methode on the dead parts to try and save them. Talk about being bummed out that night!!!

Congratulations!!!! What a beautiful little girl!!! Great going on that basement and the tank stand with canopy!!! I can't wait to see the end progress.... :)

angela, I would suggest using angle Aluminum. that way you wont have any corrosion. for my top (16" wide white pine (1x4 glued cabinet board) x 52"), I used 4 braces of 1" angle alum backed with 1x2 wood (screwed together as they were screwed to the top). talk about sturdy! I can stand on it and not bend it. I had massive bowing you could see it moving on a daily basis. once I installed the bracing, it really corrected the problem. the corners woudl bow about 1/2" each day. I installed them from front to back. also, sealing the wood with a good polyurethane sealer helped immensely! I think I had like 3 very thick coats on the inside. here are some pics of the setup. as you can see, I mounted my vho to the braces.

Great recomendation Pickupman! I know I needed to do something before water was introduced. He put 2 coats of poly but I am tempted to brush on more just for safty.

Congratulations:). Sound like you were a very busy girl before the pregnancy. Preparing for chasing another one around, huh;)?

That stand and canopy is nice. Does he want to be the MTRC wood junkie;)? The 5 gallon stuff was nice, but man that 180 S/C is really nice.

Thanks for the nice comments on Hanna and the S/Canopy. Yea, the basement was a had to be done for the month of company we have had and the girls are spending a lot of time in the new play space. Just what I was hopeing for! Dad does woodworking as a trade since retiring last year but is 4 hrs away. It rained all around them driving it in but thankfully not on them.

Congratulations Angela....she is beautifull!! :D
You have been a buisy bee. I bet it feels good to get it all done.
The stand and canopy look outstanding. I am very jealous....I should be able to finish mine up soon and they won't look near that nice.

Congrats on the NEW addition Angela. Three girls!!!! Got to be better than my son on the side of the intersate.
Looks like you've got alot accomplished with that room since I saw it last. Got to be the best looking stand/canopy I've seen.

Congrats!!! She looks just like her mom! Your dad does great work. Thats just beautiful. Don't forget the obligatory photo of the girls inside the empty tank on its stand. A new huge tank to play with, finishing a basement, and a new bundle of joy?!?! You are one busy lady... ask the hubby for a raise! I have been waiting for you to get back on here to ask a question about your copperband.. I assume you are unable to have featherdusters? next question do you know any good babysitters in the area? If you do please pm me. Take care of that bundle of joy and try to get some sleep hahahha ;)

My CBB wipped out about 7 or 8 huge feather dusters before I knew they were prone to :(. He has never touched anything else (except tulip anemonies which are so close to aptasias I forgave him) I do have a girl I use down here, I will PM you her #. Three is a whole new ballgame for sure! But they are so worth the hard work! I guess I could set the kids in the tank but I would be afraid of stressing the joints but I guess they are no heavier than a huge peice of rock!
