Pics of Wide Band Anemonefish... Why so expensive?

I think your refering to the Latz. I might be wrong but if so look down on the forum page for "Gladys, Latz". If this is not what your looking for please disregard.

People have them but not many people.........they are kind of a collectors item in the clownfish world because they are hard to come by/rarely collected/what ever other reason

but then again show me what the huge price tag on a Mickey Mantle rookie card buys you.......it's just a piece of paper

i agree, i ask because i like the looks of them, but then i saw how much they cost!!

And if i were to spend the money on them i would want a pair, or at least 2 juvies!

Here are mine:

They are cool. They haven't paired, yet. The larger one keeps the other one off to the other side of the tank, but it's far from the worst clown aggression I've seen, so I'm hopeful. So far, it's just been a few tattered fins, no body damage.

Very nice pics, they are very nice looking clowns!! Can anyone recommend a place to get on a waiting list for 2 small ones? I wouldn't want to buy two that are already 4 inches long. I'd want to watch them grow up!!!

REEF DENT - Where did you get yours from?

I'm thinking i read somewhere that someone on this forum is trying to breed them? Anyone know anything about this?

If I'm not mistaken there are at least 10 rc members that have pairs, could be more.

Here's a pic of a pair I have, I've had them for about 4 months. The juveniles are real hardy. During the heat wave in August, they were in water temps as high as 86 degrees. I thought I was going to lose them, but they pulled it through. Now their tanks are kept between 70-72 F.

RBDESIGNS - Well, the fact that i REALLY want these now basically means that your RUBBING IT IN!! God, those are nice looking fish you have there.

WHERE ARE YOU GETTING THESE!!

Someone pm me and offer me 2. I'll pay nicely!!

I got mine from BlueZoo. They are babied from square one! If poperly handled from the point of collection, they are pretty hardy from what I'm told. I think a prophylactic round of meds really helps, too.

My advice would be buy what you can, when you can. There were alot around this past summer, but that is not the norm, that's not to say it won't be in the future though. I personally would grab at least one large while you can.

There is BZA that has them (as stated), and here's a local place to me that has had one for a few months now (and they ship)... http://oldtownaquarium.com/?q=specials

I have some pics of them in my gallery as well.
