he/she only hangs out on the small polyp stonies. i read that in the wild the inhabit these corals. they even spawn on the branches!

Pretty amazing - what is the orange and red coral coming out of the coralline encrusted tubes? Seeing your pictures makes me want a lot more diversity in my tank.

WOW ! nice field of GSP ! I have some Browns doing the same in my tank. try getting it growing on the tank backglass :D

That goby in the coral is an effn' cute pic ! <- ( my GF made me say this... gah)

not sure what your speaking of kpcollins i am not sure what picture your speaking of....i believe the coraline has nothing but other encrusting algeas on it. is that what you meant? anyways the GSP that is on the right side is crazy. my last tank was over runned by it as some other members remember. in the wide tank shot look at the power head at the top right. it is covered by gps and is still functional. very funny to look at. i frag sheets of the GPS about twice a month. most frags end up at union aquarium as the owner gives me store credit for them.

ahh thanks ken that clears things up. yes it is a sun coral....very difficult as it need to be spot fed daily. when i neglect it polyps are lost. in any case yes they are beautiful corals but need too much attention even for me. adding filter foods is not enough. they need to be spot fed daily. ive had this specimen for about a year or more now. xian remembers getting it with me at a old member who got out of the hobby. and in that time my minor neglect has cost the coral about 6 of its original 15 polyps. still it is very pretty when opened to feed. thanks!

It looks like a Tubastrea species that has been through a rough time ;)

ReefD, nice pics and nice tank.

yeah like i mentioned above if you dont spot feed them daily they suffer. i do my best but some days i dont have time to remove the coral. place it in a cup and feed it . they need to eat alot. each polyp will consume much food. so to prevent any spikes from the excess food i strictly feed using this method. in any case yeah it is not in tip top shape hard coral to care for. seriously!

Yeah I seem to rermember that was a day we both got in over our heads

Hey what are you lighting this tank with?
