Well, after lots of suggestions from you guys and after a TON of help from Nursefry (thanks again Frank!), I'm finally ready to show off some photos:

tank in place but before water - man these things are heavy!

We have water! This what happens when you have the atiinics turned on and you add sand and have Vortech's turned on.

I suggest you drip loop those cords! Please! Other than that

The cords are kind of a mess right now. They're just there temporarily but they do have a drip loop to the side of the tank - its just not visible in the pictures. Thanks for the concern though and thanks!

Hows the vortechs doing I just got one it should be here soon. The tank looks good

Youll like the Vortech! They put out a massive amount of flow. My only advice is patience with them. It took much longer than I anticipated to get the two halves lined up perfectly to avoid vibrations and excessive noise. I got it as close as I could and there was still some random vibration problems but after leaving them on overnight, they kind of worked themselves in.

They still are a little noiser than I anticipated when cranked all the way up. Turn them down slightly and they're whipser quiet.

Wow! Oh, and WOW! That is beautiful.

I need to know more about the built-in. Is this a basement? Built the bookshelf and stand yourself? All new stuff?

"Tell me more!" he said, trembling in anticipation (and a little envy).

Thanks for the compliments guys!

I wish I could take credit for the woodwork but that credit goes to Wood Specialties in Menonminee Falls.

The tank is the centerpiece of out basement remodel. This is my first attempt at a full size (non-nano) saltwater tank. Since I was a kid I've always dreamed of a killer SW reef tank and now I have finally have the space and resources to do iit.

So here's how the equipement breaks down:
210G AGA reef ready tank
100G Fleet Farm tub for the sump
Precision Marine Bullet 3 skimmer
6" Collection tube for skimmer
AquaUV 57W UV filter
Sequence Wahoo return pump
PanWorld 150PS pump for the skimmer
(3) Reef Optix III Metal Halide w/ 10K double ended bulbs
(3) 36" Sunlight Supply T5 ready fit kits with dual 39W bulbs. Each fixture has (1) Pure Atinic and (1) Blue Plus bulb
AquaController Jr.
(2) Vortech pumps
(1) Geo Reactor 6 X 18 calcium reactor (backordered)
(1) Tunze Ozmollator (as soon as I find one)
90G/day Spectrapure RO/DI unit

My project today is to add the approximately 300#'s of Cultured Live Rock I've had curing for about 3 weeks now.

that is really nice bet you can't wait to stock it. how does the baffles work in the sump glued in like that. do you have to keep the clamp attached. what is the black thing hanging on the side wall of you sump?

I'm dying to start stocking it! I can't wait until it's fully stocked and I can make another Chicago run.

The baffles are an expirement at this point. At first we tried to put them in with Caulk but couldn't get the caulk to adhere to the tub. They are now put in with Plumbers Goop. So far, it looks like its gonna hold. There may be some leaks particularily around the bottom radius of the baffles. But, it's really not that critical that they be absolutely perfect. They're only there to make sure water entering the middle chamber is calm.

No the clamp isn't permanent. One of the baffels kept tilting so we put the clamp on to put more pressure on the baffles side until the Goop setup.

I'm not sure which black thing you're talking about.

I believe he meant above the sump on the wall...

Yeah I am ready for another Chicago trip but my wallet isn't.

Ahh... sorry about that. It actually has nothing to do with the tank. It's a power transformer for some low voltage lighting in the adjacent room.

Just thought I'd share an update:

The rocks are in and the pump is finally turned on.

For those that are curious, the Plumbers Goop held fine! The acrylic baffles appear to be nice solid in the sump. Unfortunately they're not water tight - but they didn't really have to be. Water still enters the return chamber nice and calm without any bubbles getting into the tank.
